COBLEIGH, West Derby [Orleans County, Vermont], merchant, was born 03 July 1877 in West Burke [Caledonia County, Vermont], son of Freedom S. and Laura (BEEMIS) COBLEIGH. Educated at Derby Academy. Worked as clerk in store at Thetford [Orange County, Vermont], 1893-1897; bought a general store at West Derby [Orleans County], 1902; and has continued business there to present time. Republican; postmaster at West Derby, 1902-1906, and 1910 to date; represented Derby [Essex County] in the Vermont Legislature 1906; selectman since 1908; member of Republican town committee 1904-1906. Universalist. Member Evening Star Lodge No. 39, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; and West Derby camp No. 11079, Modern Woodmen of America. In 1899 he [Adna B. COBLEIGH] married [Miss?] Carrie B.
