Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 122 Edwin Clarence BLANCHARD, insurance, Newport [Orleans County, Vermont], was born 23 March 1863 at Coventry [Orleans County, Vermont], son of Dr. David Wright and Mary Jane (THRASHER) BLANCHARD. Educated in public schools of Newport, and St. Johnsbury Academy. Removed to Newport in 1872; was engaged in the hardware business about fifteen years; has been in the insurance business since 1899. Republican; represented Newport in the Legislature in 1904; has held various minor offices in his town and village. In 1889 he [Edwin Clarence BLANCHARD] married [Miss?] Harriet J. CAMP of Newport [Orleans County, Vermont]. They have three children: Philip Camp, Doris Julia, and Christine Harriet. Mr. BLANCHARD is a Congregationalist. He is a member of the Grange, Newport Social Club, Memphremagog Yacht Club, an associate member of the Grand Army of the Republic, and a member of various other clubs and associations.
