Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 121 Myron John BLAIR, North Troy [Orleans County, Vermont], manufacturer, was born 20 February 1864 at Jay [Orleans County, Vermont], son of John and Emeline (FAIRWELL) BLAIR. Educated in the public schools. Studied music in Boston [Suffolk County, Massachusetts] under the renowned Professor STANTS, and meanwhile a member of Waltham Watch Company's band of sixty pieces. In 1887 returned to Vermont, entering the employ of the Frost Veneer Company at Newport [Orleans County, Vermont], remaining fifteen years; for a time director of Newport band, and for ten summers furnished orchestra at Memphremagog House. In 1896 he [Myron John BLAIR] married [Miss?] Jennie Louise CHAFFEE of Richford [Franklin County, Vermont]; they have two daughters, Marie Jessamine and Marjorie Louise. In 1900 Mr. BLAIR built and equipped a veneer mill at Newport, which was burned after eighteen months operation; formed a stock company and continued the business in Newport three years; in 1903 organized Blair Veneer Company at North Troy, which was later incorporated; in 1906 established branch factory at Montgomery [Franklin County, Vermont], and became identified with the Veneer Products Company of Greenville [Piscataquis County], Maine. In December 1910 the North Troy plant was destroyed by fire, and six months later a more modern one had replaced it; is president Blair Veneer Company of North Troy and Montgomery; vice president Veneer Products Company, Greenville, Maine; second vice president Frontier Electric Company, North Troy.
