Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 236 Luther Burnham JOHNSON, editor and publisher, Randolph [Orange County, Vermont], was born 08 December 1869 at Northfield [Washington County, Vermont], son of James Nathaniel and Eloisa (BURNHAM) JOHNSON. Educated at Northfield Graded and High Schools, and at Norwich University, graduating in the class of 1888. At Norwich University was editor-in-chief of the university periodical, "The Reveille." In 1889 acquired an interest in the "Northfield News," and became its local editor and business manager, then acquired entire ownership of the News, and became its editor and publisher until 1894, when he sold the property. After a brief ownership of the "Burlington Clipper," purchased, in 1894, the Randolph "Herald and News" and allied papers, and has since continued as their editor and publisher. Republican; was official reporter of the House of Representatives from 1896 to 1904, and represented Orange County, Vermont, in the state Senate in 1906, being chairman of the Senate committee on railroads, and a member of the committee on education and libraries. Congregationalist. Vice President of the Vermont Press Association. In 1891 Mr. [Luther Burnham] JOHNSON married [Miss?] Martha Adelaide WILLEY of Berlin [Washington County, Vermont].
