Daniel COBB, his father, struggling under adverse circumstances, acquired a good education and became a successful lawyer at Strafford. Senator J. S. MORRILL says concerning him, "Judge COBB for nearly a half a century was the chief legal counsel in town, an earnest advocate and safe adviser." Though a cripple he saw service at the battle of Plattsburg [Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York]. Mr. Nathan B. COBB, though an invalid much of his life, has done good service in many of the town offices, has been an extensive reader, and is considered an experienced, trustworthy and well-informed man.
