R’y Co.; born in Warrenton, Lancashire, England; came to America and located in Chicago in 1853; was engaged in printing business there for one year; he then went to Batavia, Kane Co., Ill., and conducted the Fox River Expositor for one year and a half; afterward he removed to St. Charles, Ill,, and for five years he published the Kane County Democrat; he served one year as bugler in the regimental band of the 36th Ill. V.I.; in 1866, he came to Watertown, and has been in the employ of the railway company ever since. Dec. 20, 1858, he married Phoebe A.
