Johnson’s Creek; born Jan. 29, 1827, in Clay, Onondaga Co., N.Y. in August, 1846, he came to Wisconsin, and located in Aztalan Township, Jefferson Co., where his step-father bought forty acres of land and built a log house; the latter worked in a saw-mill and afterward in a flour-mill in Jefferson; at his death, about 1850, the land was deeded to Mr. Miles; he now owns 130 acres; he built a frame house in 1853, and his present brick residence in 1875. Married Miss Ann Lane, of Farmington, Dec. 31, 1864; have three children – Miriam A., born Oct. 12, 1866; Mina G., May 26, 1869; Mary-Maud, Sept. 2, 1875.
