Rome; born in Fifeshire, Scotland, Dec. 23, 1842; came to America in 1854, and located in Sullivan in 1855; settled on his present farm of 160 acres in 1856; the farm was then a forest, and has been cleared and improved by the pluck and industry of its owner. Married, in July, 1863, Miss Mary Turner; they have two sons - William and John. Mr. Maul is, in politics, a Republican, and is independent of church or secret orders; he is one of the wide-awake farmers, and has made his own farm and home; he has the usual stock and crops of his county.
