WIEBOLDT, of Manitowoc [Manitowoc County, Wisconsin], Under Sheriff of Manitowoc County, was born in Hanover, Germany, 11 February 1836. He emigrated to America in 1849, and lived in New York City about eighteen months. He went to California in 1851, and followed steamboating until 1854, when he returned to New York City, and from there came to Manitowoc County the same year and bought a farm. He also began a general mercantile business. His store was destroyed by fire. He was appointed Under Sheriff in 1880. In 1855 P. W. WIEBOLDT was married, in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, to Miss Louisa SAXE [a maiden name?], a native of Germany. They [P. W. and Louisa WIEBOLDT] have two sons and one daughter.
