REUSS, proprietor of the Williams House, [city of] Manitowoc [Manitowoc County, Wisconsin], was born 18 May 1835 in Germany. In 1853 he came to Connecticut, in 1855 to New York, and in 1857 he removed to Milwaukee [Milwaukee County, Wisconsin]. He was clerk for George DYER five years. In 1862 he [Hugo A. REUSS] came to Two Creeks [on Lake Michigan; on the Manitowoc County map in the 1878 Atlas of Wisconsin, Two Creeks is located in Section 11 of Two Rivers Township], and was employed as bookkeeper by Pfister & Vogel the first year. He then had general charge of the tannery. This position he held until the fall of 1877, when he removed to Manitowoc, and has since had charge of this house the Williams House]. On 29 March 1857 he [Hugo A. REUSS] was married to Crescentia ROETTER [a maiden name?], of Germany. They [Hugo A. and Crscentia REUSS] have two children, John and Matilda.
