Educated in the public schools, at Underhill High School, and Bakersfield Academy. Studied dentistry with J. S. MOWE, Morrisville [Lamoille County, Vermont], and E. H. CARTER, Burlington [Chittenden County, Vermont]. He has practiced dentistry in Cambridge since 1861. Republican. Member of the Methodist Episcopal Church since 1880; superintendent of the Sunday school for seven years. In 1859 Mr. [Adaph Kenfield] ELLSWORTH married [Miss?] Sophronia VAUGHAN of Plattsburg [Clinton County], New York; she [Sophronia ELLSWORTH] died in 1879; they had two children, Horace Vaughan and Martha Maria.
