Lamoille DAVIS, Frank William Men of Vermont: Illustrated Biographical History of Vermonters & Sons of Vermont. Ullery. Brattleboro: Transcript Publishing Company, 1894, p 98 Frank William DAVIS, of Bakersfield [Franklin County, Vermont], was born 31 July 1850 in Honeoye Falls [Monroe County], New York, son of Joel C. and Martha (MONTGOMERY) DAVIS. He received a good common school education. At the age of twenty-four he commenced his business career at East Fairfield [Franklin County, Vermont], but in 1878 removed to Belvidere [Lamoille County, Vermont], where he has since made his home, with the exception of two years, when he was engaged in trade at Bakersfield. From 1889 to 1893 he has been in partnership with several others in the manufacture of butter tubs at Belvidere Centre [Lamoille County], and the enterprise has proved remunerative and been of much benefit to that community. Mr. DAVIS has filled all the town offices; for five years has been an active member of the Lamoille County Republican committee; represented the town in 1888, and served on the Grand List committee, and was its secretary. He is a member of Mount Norris Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons; Tucker Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, at Morrisville; Burlington Council; and Sterling Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, at Hyde Park [Lamoille County]. Mr. [Frank William] DAVIS was married at Bakersfield [Franklin County, Vermont] to Emeroy F., daughter of Ira F. and Mahala A. DEAN, by whom he has had three children. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
