Argyle [Argyle Township (Township 3 North, Range 5 West), Lafayette County, Wisconsin], was born 27 October 1835 in Kingsfield, Franklin County, Maine, and engaged in farming until 1845. He emigrated to Jackson [Jackson County], Michigan, remaining seven years, and in 1852 came to Wisconsin. In 1862 he [F. G. WYMAN] enlisted in Company I, Second West Virginia Cavalry, and was mustered out in 1865. In May 1865 he [F. G. WYMAN] married L. C. THURSTON [a maiden name?], who was born in 1845 in Delaware County, Ohio. Mr. WYMAN engaged in his present business in 1868. He has been [Aryle] Town Clerk and Treasurer. In politics he is a Republican, and in religion, a Methodist, and is one of the Trustees. He owns town property [in Argyle]. [Mr. F. G. WYMAN is also listed as one of the first officers of the Argyle Cemetery Association. (p 653). The association was organized in 1853, the cemetery having been platted in 1850, under the direction of a Mr. BRIGGS and a Mr. FOSS. It is located at the extreme south end of North Street, containing [in 1881] about two acres of ground divided into 226 lots, and highly ornamented with tombs and monuments.
