WILLIAMS, deceased; Shullsburg [Lafayette County, Wisconsin], was born 22 August 1822 in McKean County, Pennsylvania. After completing a regular course of studies, he commenced studying law at Meadville [Crawford County], Pennsylvania, where he was admitted to the Bar. He at once commenced the practice of his profession, which he continued until till his death. John K. WILLIAMS died 04 April 1880. He came to Shullsburg in 1846, and since then has always been prominently identified with Lafayette County. he was a member of the Wisconsin Legislature in 1850; elected Chief Clerk of the Senate in 1852-1853, and was Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lafayette County in 1855, and Regent of the University of Wisconsin in 1876; he was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows' Orders; he owned and managed large tracts of farming lands. In 1848 John K. WILLIAMS married Mrs. ---- ALLEN; she was born in Haverhill [Grafton County], New Hampshire. Mr. and Mrs. John K. WILLIAMS have two children: Clara L. and John P.
