WALTON, William History of La Fayette County, Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, p 751 William WALTON, farmer, Section 30 [White Oak Springs, Lafayette County, Wisconsin]; P. O. White Oak Springs, was born in July 1826 in Durham, England. In 1848 he came to town of New Diggings, and followed [lead] mining until 1851, when he went to California. In 1854 he returned to Jo Daviess County [Illinois]. In 1856 he came to White Oak Springs, where he has since lived. Mr. WALTON owns 444 and one-half acres of land; also a one-fifth interest in the White Oak Springs Creamery. He has been Chairman of the town [White Oak Springs] about eight years, and a member of the Side Board. In 1850 William WALTON married Miss Mary A. REDFEARN; she was born in 1830 in England. She came to America when an infant, with her parents. They [William and Mary A. (REDFEARN) WALTON] have seven children: Mary J., George W., Margaret A., John T., Hannah M., Joseph H., and Charles W.
