Robert SAMSON, farmer, Section 35 [Shullsburg Township, Lafayette County, 
Wisconsin], P. O. Shullsburg, was born 21 July 1824 in Lincolnshire, England. 
In 1852 he came to New York, and in 1855 he came to Grant County, Wisconsin 
[adjacent to and west of Lafayette County]. In 1863 he removed to his 
present farm, consisting of 160 acres of land. Robert SAMSON is School 
Treasurer.

In 1847 Robert SAMSON married [Miss?] Ann MARSHALL, who was born in 
Lincolnshire, England. Robert and Ann SAMSON have seven children: Emma, 
Robert, Ann Eliza, Mary A., Rebecca, Sarah J., and Marshall.
