Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, p 744 Thomas ROBINSON, farmer, Section 35, Town of New Diggings, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, P. O. Etna [a post office established in 1857 to supply mail to the lead miners, two and a half miles north of the village of New Diggings], was born 10 July 1811 in Cumberland, England. On 12 August 1844 he came to La Fayette County, Wisconsin, and worked at the blacksmith's trade in New Diggings about nine years. He has since been engaged in mining and farming, and owns 516 acres of land. In 1833 he [Thomas ROBINSON] married Ann LEE [a maiden name?], who was born in 1804 in England. They [Thomas and Ann ROBINSON] have four children: Ruth, Isaac, Mary, and Mathew. Mr. ROBINSON has been Justice of the Peace, town Supervisor and has held most of the township offices.
