ROBERTSON, farmer, owner of sixty acres in Section 28, Town of Wiota, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, P. O. Wiota, was born 24 February 1826 in Fentress County, Tennessee. He came to Wisconsin in 1836, settled in Lafayette County, and came to the Town of Wiota in 1845. [The land that became the State of Wisconsin on 29 May 1848, was formerly part of the Territory of Wisconsin, created 20 April 1836 from a portion of Michigan Territory. Lafayette County, created in 1836, was formerly part of Iowa County.] In 1849 he [Lewis C. ROBERTSON] was married; his wife was born 01 May 1832 in Geauga County, Ohio. They [Mr. and Mrs. Lewis C. ROBERTSON] have had one child: Amelia Caroline, now Mrs. BLUNT, who lives in the Town of Wiota. Mr. ROBERTSON has held the office of County Constable four years. On 30 August 1864 Lewis C. ROBERTSON enlisted at Monticello, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, as a Sergeant in the Fifth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and was discharged 08 April 1865.
