Emil WITTE, farmer, Section 34, P. O. Ahnapee [Ahnapee Township, Kewaunee 
County, Wisconsin; now Algoma], was born 02 February 1847 in Germany. He 
came to Chicago in 1871, and removed to Ahnapee in 1873. He first rented a 
farm, and in 1878 bought this farm [on Section 34], consisting of ninety 
acres.

In 1874 he [Emil WITTE] married Caroline BARNDT [text typo for BRANDT?], who 
was born in Germany. They [Emil and Caroline WITTE] have three children, one 
son and two daughters. She has three children by former marriage, two sons 
and one daughter.
