WILLIAMS, farmer, Section 16, Randall Township, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, P. O. Bassett's Station, was born 05 December 1814 in Washington County, New York. He emigrated and settled in Kenosha County [then still part of Racine County, Territory of Wisconsin] on 01 June 1842. He owns 180 acres of land, and is engaged in general stock raising and farming. J. L. WILLIAMS married Miss Elizabeth HOWLETT, daughter of William P. HOWLETT of Rochester [Monroe County], New York; she was born 19 October 1828. [J. L. and Elizabeth (HOWLETT) WILLIAMS have had] seven children, six sons and one daughter: (1) Edwin A., born 09 November 1847; (2) Julius P., born 07 September 1852; (3) Lyman A., born 14 April 1857; (4) Charles E., born 17 October 1859; (5) Willis M., born 16 December 1861; (6) Herbert J., born 19 April 1863; and (7) May Lillian, born 07 November 1868.
