Wilhelm SCHMIDT, farmer, Section 17, Brighton Township, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, P. O. Burlington, Racine County, was born 26 February 1826 in Germany. He came to Wisconsin in 1855, located in Brighton, Kenosha County, and engaged in farming until 1862. He then moved to Wheatland Township, Kenosha County, remained there a short time, and then returned and relocated in Brighton, where he again engaged in farming in 1866. In 1854 F. Wilhelm SCHMIDT married Miss Catherine BOCK. Wilhelm and Catherine (BOCK) SCHMIDT have five children: (1) Anna, born 16 October 1855; (2) Hermann, born 04 May 1857; (3) Emma, born 21 August 1859; (4) Robert, born 30 January 1863; and (5) Louis, born 28 May 1865. Mr. SCHMIDT now owns 153 acres of land, with a large substantial barn and a pleasant home. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
