Chicago: Western Historical, 1879, p 699 Nicholas ROHR, city of Kenosha, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, foreman, Gottfredsen & Son's brewery, was born 16 October 1823 in Germany, and came to Wisconsin in 1852, locating at Kenosha. In 1856 he commenced work for Gottfredsen & Son, and remained with them until 1862, when he worked in Muntzenberger's brewery for eight years. In 1870 Nicholas ROHR returned to Gottfredsen & Son, taking charge of the brewery and malt house. In 1851 he [Nicholas ROHR] married Miss Mary ORTH, who was born in Germany. They [Nicholas and Mary (ORTH) ROHR] have had nine children, four daughters and five sons. Two daughters and two sons died in Kenosha, Kenosha County, Wisconsin. Their second eldest son, Fredrick William, is studying in Chicago, Illinois, to be a physician. The ROHR family are members of the Catholic church. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
