Christiana, Dane Co.; born in Perthshire, Scotland, in 1826; carpenter by trade; came to America in 1846; in 1874**(see footnote), came to Wisconsin and located in Oakland, Jefferson Co., and worked at his trade and then engaged in farming. Married, in March, 1850, Miss Ann Matheison, who is a native of New Brunswick; have four children – Mary J., Anna, Lizzy and Dugald. In 1852, he went to California on a mining expedition, also worked at his trade, living there till 1855, when he returned to Wisconsin. Owns 153 acres of land, raises the products of this county.
