HENRY KELSEY, carpenter, Jefferson; born in Salisbury, Conn., Oct. 13, 1808; worked in Canandaigua, N.Y., ten years, and five years in Danville, Livingston Co., N.Y., and also in Ohio one year; came to Jefferson in October, 1843. Married Jane Ann Brown, Feb. 13, 1837; she was born in Sodus, N.Y., Sept. 15, 1818; they have three children – Henry, born Feb. 13, 1838; Maryette (now Mrs. Winterling), born Oct. 6, 1839, and Francis, born June 14, 1842; both sons enlisted in 1861, in the 2d Minn. V.I., and were all through the war. Henry was clerk for Gen. Thomas, and is now at Beaver Falls, Minn. Francis was Second Lieutenant of his company, and was wounded at the battle of Chickamauga, after which he came back to Minnesota and recruited a company with which he went to the seat of war in North Carolina, and met Sherman on the day of Gen.
