Palmyra; born in Luxemburg, Germany, Dec. 13, 1834; the early part of his life was spent in his native country; came to Jefferson Co. in 1856, and opened a blacksmith-shop in Palmyra in 1861, where he has since followed the business; he enlisted in 1865 in the 46th W.V.I., and was under Gen. Hunter in Alabama; the regiment was mustered out in October, 1865. Married Miss Barbara Busgen March 25, 1861.
