WILKINSON, attorney, Wonewoc [Juneau County, Wisconsin], was born in 1847 in Yorkshire, England. He emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1857, and came direct to Wisconsin, settling in Sauk County. At the age of twenty-one he was admitted to the Bar. In 1867 he [R. A. WILKINSON] was married to Mary Jane LYCAN [a maiden name?], who was born in 1848 in Sauk County, Wisconsin. [Mary Jane was born the same year Wisconsin became a State. If her birthdate falls on or after 29 May 1848, she was born in the State of Wisconsin. If she was born before that date, she was born in the Territory of Wisconsin.] The children [of R. A. and Mary Jane WILKINSON] are Clarence R., Samuel, Claud, and Mattie. In 1869 they moved to Mauston, Juneau County, [Wisconsin], where Mr. WILKINSON followed the practice of law until 1877, when he came to Wonewoc, and is now dealing in general produce, agricultural implements, etc. He [R. A. WILKINSON] is also proprietor of the Juneau House. Mr. [R. A.] WILKINSON has held various local offices, has been District Attorney two terms, Chairman of the County Board one term, a member of the same two terms, and is at present Chairman of the Town Board and President of the Village of Wonewoc [Juneau County].
