WILCOX, station agent, New Lisbon [Juneau County, Wisconsin], was born in Wayne County, New York, 26 March 1845. His father died when Thomas H. WILCOX was four years of age, after which he went to live with his grandfather, Thomas WILCOX, with whom he soon came to Wisconsin and lived at Aztalan, Jefferson County, about seven years, during which time his grandfather died. He then went to Beaver Dam [Dodge County, Wisconsin] and lived with his uncle, O. H. P. FISHER, until 1861. He [Thomas H. WILCOX] then enlisted in Company F, 29th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and was rejected on account of his age, but served about a year as Lieutenant Colonel's orderly, after which he returned to Wisconsin, but soon departed for the New York State to visit his mother, who was then living at Palmyra [Wayne County, New York], and remained about one year, when he again returned to Wisconsin, and soon afterward re-enlisted in Company G, 40th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and served 100 days, at the end of which time he returned to Beaver Dam [Dodge County], Wisconsin, and attended school at the Wayland University nearly two terms. He then worked for his uncle nearly one year, after which he followed farming at Milford [Jefferson County], Wisconsin, about two years. At the end of this time, he turned his attention to railroading, learned telegraphy, and worked for the Chicago, Minneapolis & St. Paul Railway Company at Ocomonowoc [Waukesha County, Wisconsin] a short time. In May 1870 he came to New Lisbon [Juneau County, Wisconsin], at which place he, with the exception of one year when he was in their employ at Tomah [Monroe County, Wisconsin], has since served them as telegraph operator, and as station agent since 01 August 1878. On 12 May 1874 he [Thomas H. WILCOX was married to Eliza M. DAILY [a maiden name?], then of New Lisbon [Juneau County, Wisconsin], but formerly of Pennsylvania. They [Thomas H. and Eliza M. WILCOX] have three children: (1) William M., born 27 March 1875; (2) Kittie M., born 16 July 1876; and (3) Cecele J., born 09 December 1880. Politically Thomas H.
