ROGERS, merchant, Elroy [on the Chicago & Northwestern Railway line, in Plymouth Township, Juneau County, Wisconsin], was born in 1842 in Keyport [Monmouth County], New Jersey, where he lived until 1864, when he came West and settled first at Janesville [Rock County], Wisconsin, where he was engaged in railroading until the fall of 1875, when he came to Elroy and following the same business until the spring of 1878, since which time he has been engaged in the mercantile business. In 1863 he [E. S. ROGERS] was married to [Miss?] Emma SLEEPER, who was born in 1845 in Erie County, New York. They [E. S. and Emma ROGERS] have two children: Minnie, born 25 August 1864; and Harry, born 30 October 1868. Mr. ROGERS is also express agent. He has held various local offices, and is a Republican. Fraternally Mr. ROGERS is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Ancient Order of United Workmen, and is a Mason, belonging to the Chapter. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
