Oak Hill; born in Lincoln Co., Me., March 1, 1818; the early part of his life was spent in his native State; he came to Wisconsin in 1847, remained five years; then went to California, and, after five years successful experience as a miner, he returned to the farm he now owns of 115 acres. He married Miss Mary Stratten, of Waukesha Co., in 1860; they have seven children - Helen, Charles, Celia, Dora, Emily, Alva and Arvilla.
