HILDRETH, blacksmith, Lake Mills; born Sept. 22, 1831; came to Wisconsin in 1849; went to work at his trade at Lake Mills, Aug. 19, 1862; enlisted in 3d Wis. Light Artillery; went into active service, participating in all battles with battery, among them Stone River, Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, and others; was mustered out at Madison July 3, 1865; returned to his present occupation.
