WILLIAM HAMANN,  farmer;  P.O. Watertown; born in Mechlenburg, 
Germany, Oct. 27, 1827; came to America in 1854, and located in 
Watertown, Wis., where he worked at his trade – cooper – for nine 
years; purchased his present homestead in 1867, consisting of eighty 
acres on Sec. 26, town of Shields, Dodge Co.  Married, in June, 1854, 
Henrietta Tick, daughter of Joseph and Mary Tick, natives of Germany; 
have five children, two boys and three girls – Henry, Lena, Martha, 
Mary and John.  Mr. Hamann is a member of the Lutheran Church; in 
politics, Democratic.
