CHRISTOPHER GRIMM, merchant and apiarist, Jefferson; was born in Bavaria, Germany, March 18, 1828; came to America in 1846; resided in Terre Haute, Ind., till coming to Jefferson; has traveled through nearly all the States of the Union and visited most of the larger cities; came to Jefferson in 1865 and bought out W. Hillier’s store and established in mercantile business; in 1869, began in the bee business, also, and now has about five hundred swarms on farm near by and at other points. Mr. G. has been President of Village Board three terms, was appointed Commissioner of Public Debt, elected member of County Board of Supervisors and is now Justice of the Peace. Married Caroline Wahler March 4, 1851; she was born in Wittenburg, Germany, May 22, 1825; they have six children – Caroline, Emma, Otto, Menie, Thomas and Matilda, aged 25, 21, 20, 18, 16 and 13 years, respectively.
