ROBINSON, farmer and livery business [Green Lake County, Wisconsin], was born in 1842 in Vermont, son of Ebenezer and Harriet (PEARCE) ROBINSON, his ancestors being early settlers of Vermont. He came West in 1845, with his parents, locating in Walworth County [in the Territory of Wisconsin if before 29 May 1848, when the State of Wisconsin was created], where they engaged in farming, and where his father [Ebenezer ROBINSON] died in 1856. They then moved to Dodge County [Wisconsin]. [On 02] August 1861 Mr. [George W.] ROBINSON enlisted [at Plainfield, Waushara County, Wisconsin, as a Private in Company I], Seventh Wisconsin Infantry, which was attached to the Iron Brigade. He served with the regiment until the second battle of Bull Run [fought on 29 & 30 August 1862], where he was wounded by a mini ball and disabled for active service. He was one of the 90 of 600 that entered the fight and came out alive. In 1874 he [George W. ROBINSON] was married to Miss Emma WAITE.
