Palmyra; born in Cornwall, England, in 1839; came to America in 1859, locating in Palmyra, where he has since lived; settled on the farm he now owns of 100 acres, in 1871. Married Miss Julia Stratten Aug. 22, 1864; they have three children – Albert, Ada and Lillie. Mr. Gilbert is a Republican. Mrs. Gilbert was born March 17, 1845; she became impressed with the truths of the Gospel, and united with the M.E. Church, of Oxford, Oakland Co., Mich., at the age of 14; she is still an active and earnest supporter of the Gospel, and has been a member of the Palmyra M.E. Church during the past nine years.
