Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 248 Nelson Emery L'ECUYER, manager St. Albans Messenger Company, St. Albans [Franklin County, Vermont], was born 17 July 1861 at St. Johns, Province of Quebec, son of N. H. and Christine (TRAHAN) L' ECUYER. Educated at St. Johnsbury Academy and Commercial College. Entered the employ of the Central Vermont Railway in 1877 at St. Johns, and gradually came up in the service until 1883, when he was made chief clerk of the joint Grand Trunk and Central Vermont division office with headquarters at St. Albans. Entered the general freight department in 1889, which position he held until 1898, when he entered the employ of the St. Albans Messenger Company as cashier and accountant; successively occupied positions of treasurer, treasurer and superintendent, and was made manager and treasurer on 01 December 1909. Republican; has been village Trustee and License Commissioner. Roman Catholic, member of Holy Angels parish. Member of Knights of Columbus; Catholic Order of Foresters. Has been Treasurer of Champlain Court No. 402 since its foundation in 1894. Was a Director of the State Court of that order four years, and is now state Chief Ranger. Also a member of St. Jean Baptiste Society, the Modern Woodmen of America, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In 1893 he [Nelson Emery L'ECUYER] married [Miss?] Azelie LANGLOIS of St. Johns, Province of Quebec; they have 11 children: George Emery, Marie Beatrice, Thomas Henry, Rose Annette, Marguerite Marie, Armand, Harvey, Leo Eugene, Laurette Georgine, Reine Therese, and Fernande Leona.
