Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 199 Alvah H. GEORGE, St. Albans, lawyer, was born 08 February 1868 in St. Albans [Franklin County, Vermont], son of Horace W. and Mellisa A. (YOUNG) GEORGE. He was educated at St. Albans High School, a graduate of the class of 1886. Mr. GEORGE studied law with Farrington & Post. He was admitted to the Vermont bar in 1889. Democrat; represented St. Albans in the Vermont Legislature in 1900; mayor of St. Albans 1904. Mr. GEORGE is a member of St. Albans Lodge No. 31, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; and is a past grand chancellor of the Knights of Pythias. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
