Was clerk Vermont & Canada Railroad, Rouses Point [Clinton County], New York, 1864-1866; agent Vermont Central and Vermont & Canada Railroad 1866-1870; assistant lost freight car and claim agent White River Junction [Windsor County, Vermont], 1870-1871; lost freight car and claim agent, Vermont Central line, 1871-1878; superintendent local and joint freight traffic, Central Vermont Railroad, St. Albans, 1878-1892, and general freight agent 1892-1899; director People's Trust Company since 1899; director Welden National Bank since 1902, and vice president since 1904; member and chairman Bellows Free Academy Fund since 1900; ex-president New England General Freight Agents Association; ex-president and founder Canadian General Freight Agents Association.
