Co., 1894, Part III, Sons of Vermonters, p 10 Joseph Weeks BABCOCK, of Necedah [Juneau County], Wisconsin, was born 06 March 1850 in Swanton Falls [Franklin County, Vermont]. He removed with his parents to Iowa in 1856, where he received a common school education. He is a grandson of the late Hon. Joseph WEEKS of Richmond [Cheshire County], New Hampshire, who was a member of the Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth Congress. He is by occupation a lumberman. He settled at Necedah [Juneau County, Wisconsin] in 1881, where he has since resided. He was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1888, and served as chairman of the committee on incorporations, and was re-elected in 1890. He was elected to the Fifty-third Congress as a Republican.
