Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 100 George Pomeroy ANDERSON, editorial writer, Boston [Suffolk County], Massachusetts, was born 19 February 1873 at St. Albans [Franklin County, Vermont], son of Stephen Brown and Mary Ann Frances (POMEROY) ANDERSON. He graduated at St. Albans High School in 1892, from the University of Vermont (A. B.) in 1896, and from the Young Men's Christian Association Law School in Boston (LL. B.) in 1907. He was on local staff of the "St. Albans Messenger" in 1896-1897, and a law student in the office of Wilson & Hall; has been connected with the "Boston Daily Globe" since 1898 in various capacities, and is now one of it editorial writers. In 1900 George Pomeroy ANDERSON married [Miss?] Persis Greely DUTCHER of St. Albans; they have two daughters, Persis Greely and Frances Pomeroy. Mr. ANDERSON is a Republican; member of Boston common council from Ward Ten in 1907, and of Boston board of aldermen in 1908 and 1909. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar; a member of St. John's Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons, of Boston; and of St. Andrew's Chapter, Royal Arch Masons; and belongs to the Boston City Club, the Boston Newspaper Club, the Vermont Historical Society, and the Vermont Association of Boston.
