Dodge. Burlington: Ullery, 1912, p 97 Marshall Henry ALEXANDER, lawyer, St. Albans City, was born 24 September 1861 at St. Albans [Franklin County, Vermont], son of Henry G. and Alvira S. (GREENE) ALEXANDER. He was educated in the public schools and St. Albans Academy. Mr. ALEXANDER was admitted to the Vermont bar in 1883; admitted to New York bar in 1897, and practiced there for a few years; returned to Vermont and resided in the town of Georgia [Franklin County] for several years; in 1907 opened an office in St. Albans, and has since been actively engaged in the practice of law. In 1884 Marshall Henry ALEXANDER married Bertha E. ATCHINSON of Jericho [Chittenden County, Vermont], who died in 1910. They had three children, only one of whom now survives, a daughter, Ruth. Mr. ALEXANDER is a Republican, and represented Georgia [Franklin County, Vermont] in the Legislature in 1906. He has served as chairman of the committee on elections, and as a member of several other committees. He was a justice of the peace in Georgia [Vermont] six years, constable and collector five years, superintendent of schools for two years, and at present is a member of the Republican city committee of St. Albans.
