FRENCH, physician and surgeon, Concord [Essex County, Vermont], was born 24 January 1858 at Hardwick [Caledonia County, Vermont], son of Mark and Lois (DUTTON) FRENCH. Educated at Hardwick and Morrisville academies [the latter in Lamoille County]; Hahnemann Medical College, Chicago [Cook County, Illinois]; Eclectic Medical College, New York, M. D. 1883. Practiced his profession at Waterville [Lamoille County] three years, Greensboro [Orleans County] four years, and Concord twenty-two years. Member of the Caledonia County Medical Society. Republican; has filled the offices of school superintendent, school director, and selectman; has been health officer of Concord for several years; represented Concord in the Vermont Legislature in 1908, and was a member of the committee on health, and chairman of the committee on the insane. Universalist. Past master of Moose River Lodge No. 82, Free & Accepted Masons; member of Order of Eastern Star; and Concord Grange. In 1884 Dr. [George B.] FRENCH married [Miss?] Alice E.
