E.L.MOSS, Wheatland, Dallas county, Texas, was born July 16, 1855, on the farm on which he now lives. He is the third son and child of Azariah Moss, a sketch of whom appears in this volume. He was reared on the farm, received a common-school education, and remained with his father until he was thirty-one years of age. January 15, 1885, he was united in marriage with Miss Mollie Porter, a native of Dallas county, and a daughter of Frank and Mary Cornelius (Derrah) Porter, who came from Tennessee to Dallas county and were among the first settlers of this place. After his marriage Mr. Moss resided at the old home three years. In 1888 he built his present residence, a cottage of six rooms, where he is comfortably situated. His farm on which he lives has 320 acres of land: 200 acres are under cultivation. He and his wife have one child – Virgie. Mr. Moss is a member of the I.O.O.F., Lancaster Lodge, No. 200.
