Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol I, p 331 William ROWE, of the firm of Smith & Rowe, Eau Claire, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, was born 31 December 1849 in Browntown, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, son of Henry B. and Lucinda (BIESICKER) ROWE, and lived there until he came to Wisconsin in 1857 with his parents, who located in Mondovi [Naples Township], Buffalo County [Wisconsin]. William ROWE came to Eau Claire in 1867, engaged in clerking for W. H. SMITH, and was with him for seven years, when he [William ROWE] established business for himself, in partnership with Stillman J. SMITH, his present partner. [Stillman J. SMITH a son of W. H. SMITH? See the Dane County, Wisconsin, biography of Peter B. MORRISON, whose daughter, Helen Doane MORRISON, married Stillman J. SMITH of Eau Claire.] On 27 September 1876 in Hemmingford, Quebec [Canada], he [William ROWE] married [Miss?] Mary A. REAY, who was born in that place. They [William and Mary A.
