Herman ROSE, dentist, Augusta [on the West Wisconsin Railway line in southeastern Eau Claire County, Wisconsin], was born in 1833 in Virginia. In 1850 he graduated in medicine at Cleveland [Cuyahoga County], Ohio, and came to Wisconsin in 1853. He located at Monroe [meaning Monroe County, Wisconsin, or in Monroe in Green County, Wisconsin?] for about a year, teaching school, and was afterward engaged in practicing dentistry through Illinois and Wisconsin for some years. He came to Augusta, Eau Claire County, in 1874. On 15 July 1877 at Osseo, Wisconsin [in Sumner Township, Trempealeau County; that township lying adjacent to and south of the line between Trempealeau and Eau Claire Counties], he [P. Herman ROSE] was married to Mary HAZELTON [a maiden name?], who was born in New York. They [P. Herman and Mary ROSE] have two children, Eveline and Elizabeth. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
