Joseph ROACH, farmer, Town of Union, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, was born 
in 1810 in Ireland. He came to Wisconsin in 1856, and took up his present 
farm. In 1835 in Ireland Joseph ROACH was married to [Miss?] Mary O'NEAL. 
By steady industry Mr. ROACH prospered and reared a family of eight children: 
Nicholas, Johanna, John, James, Mary, Ellen, Margaret, and Joseph. 
[Evidence from primary and other records to support the assumption that all 
the named children are the issue of Joseph and Mary ROACH is not provided by 
the author. Joseph ROACH could have been married more than once. Assuming 
the children are listed in order of birth (no birth records sought by 
submitter to support this assumption) the last being named "Joseph" suggests 
all were the children of Joseph and Mary.]
