RICK, meat market proprietor [Augusta, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin], was born 16 November 1851 in Prussia. He came to Ripon [Fond du Lac County], Wisconsin in 1868, resided there eighteen months, and then came to Augusta [Eau Claire County], where he has since lived. He has worked at the butchering business most of the time since he came to Wisconsin, for the last eight years in business for himself [text published 1881, thus by calculation since about 1873]. On 25 December 1878 in Augusta [Eau Claire County, Wisconsin], Mr. [August C.] RICK was married to Mary JOHNSON [a maiden name?]. They [August C. and Mary RICK] have had one child, who died in early infancy. Mr. RICK is serving his second term as Village Trustee, and is a member of the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, and Independent Order of Odd Fellows societies.
