A. W. SCHULZ, blacksmith, Sawyer [Nasewaupee Township, Door County, 
Wisconsin], was born in September 1849 in Prussia. In 1864 he came to 
Rochester [Monroe County], New York, and worked in a cotton factory for three 
years, then removed to Manitowoc [Manitowoc County], Wisconsin, where he 
engaged in blacksmith work, remaining there until June 1880, when he came to 
Door County and opened a blacksmith shop in Bay View [directly across 
Sturgeon Bay from the community of Sturgeon Bay].

In December 1875 A. W. SCHULZ was married to Miss Johannah RADKE of Prussia. 
A. W. and Johannah (RADKE) SCHULZ have one son, William. Mr. SCHULZ remained 
in Manitowoc
