SCHULZ, blacksmith, Sawyer [Nasewaupee Township, Door County, Wisconsin], was born in September 1849 in Prussia. In 1864 he came to Rochester [Monroe County], New York, and worked in a cotton factory for three years, then removed to Manitowoc [Manitowoc County], Wisconsin, where he engaged in blacksmith work, remaining there until June 1880, when he came to Door County and opened a blacksmith shop in Bay View [directly across Sturgeon Bay from the community of Sturgeon Bay]. In December 1875 A. W. SCHULZ was married to Miss Johannah RADKE of Prussia. A. W. and Johannah (RADKE) SCHULZ have one son, William. Mr. SCHULZ remained in Manitowoc Submitted by Cathy Kubly
