From Memorial and Genealogical Record of Dodge and Jefferson Counties, Wisconsin, publ. 1894 - Page 105 SOLOMON RUDOLPH. This gentleman is the able superintendent of the Asylum and County Poor Farm of Dodge County, at Juneau, and he is also one of the old settlers and substantial citizens of this section, highly respected by all who know him. Mr. RUDOLPH is a native son of Dodge County, and was born in Ashborn Township September 22, 1848, his father being Alexander RUDOLPH, who was one of the honored first settlers of this section and entered land here in 1844. In this county Solomon RUDOLPH arrived at mature years without haying gained as good an education as could be desired, for, until he was twenty-eight years of age, he gave his services to his father. He was first married in Washington County, Wis., to Miss Mary MALLOY, who was born and reared in that county, and after their marriage they settled on a farm near the old RUDOLPH homestead, where Mr. RUDOLPH was successfully engaged in agricultural pursuits for a number of years. He still owns a valuable and well-improved farm of 140 acres in Dodge County. He was called upon to mourn the death of the bride of his youth in January 1890, and in April 1891, his marriage with Miss Anna COYLE, of Waukesha County, Wis., was celebrated, she having been born, reared and educated there. Her father, Peter COYLE, was one of the first settlers of that county. Mr. RUDOLPH's first union resulted in the birth of five children: A. J., F. T., Lizzie Ann, William, and Clara, who lives with her grandparents. In politics Mr. RUDOLPH has always been a Democrat, and at all elections supports the men and measures of his party. He has held several local official positions, and in 1885 was chosen as a suitable man to fill the position of superintendent of the County Asylum and Poor Farm, and took charge of the place the following January. This farm consists of 220 acres, and is carefully and wisely managed by Mr. RUDOLPH, who has proven himself to be the right man in the right place. Mr. RUDOLPH is well and favorably known in Dodge and adjoining counties, and he and his worthy wife have gathered about them many warm friends, a result of correct living. Submitted by Carol
