Christian ZICKART, farmer, Section 36, P. O. Watertown [Dodge County, 
Wisconsin], was born 18 October 1827 in Mecklenburg, Germany, son of 
Christopher ZICHART. He came to America in 1857, and the same year he came 
to Wisconsin, locating in Jefferson County, where he lived for two years. In 
1868 he [Christian ZICKART] purchased his present homestead of 100 acres.

In July 1836 Christian ZICKART was married to [his first wife] Mary WESDORF, 
a native of Germany, who died leaving one child: Christiania. On 23 
November 1860 Christian ZICKART was married to Mary STOOSHAE; they have seven 
children: Josephine, Bertha, Emma, Frank, Bernard, Edward, and Richard. Mr. 
[Christian] ZICKART is a member of the Lutheran Church. Christian ZICKART 
was elected School Treasurer four years, and in politics is independent.
