WI BIO - Dodge Co - WRIGHT, F. A. History of Dodge County, Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1880, p 745 F. A. WRIGHT, farmer, Section 31; P. O. Waterloo [in the northwest corner of Waterloo Township], Jefferson County [Wisconsin], was born in 1837 in the Town of Bethany, Genesee County, New York. He went to Michigan in the fall of 1855, and came to Dodge County in the fall of 1856 [about seven years after his future wife had come to Dodge County]. He [F. A. WRIGHT] was married to Mrs. Chloe A. KNOWLTON, formerly Miss BROOKINS, who was born in 1835 in Genesee County, New York. She [then Chloe A. BROOKINS] came to the town of Portland [Portland Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin] with her parents in 1849. [Portland Township, in the southwest corner of Dodge County, Wisconsin, is adjacent to Waterloo Township, in the northwest corner of Jefferson County, Wisconsin.] In 1851 she [Chloe A. BROOKINS] was married to Mr. Daniel KNOWLTON, who entered, in 1844, the farm where the family now reside. He [Daniel KNOWLTON] died in 1875. [Submitter did not view marriage records, thus the marriage of Mrs. Chloe A. (BROOKINS) KNOWLTON and F. A. WRIGHT occurring after the date of death in 1875 of Chloe's first husband remains a good assumption.] Mrs. WRIGHT [Chloe A. WRIGHT] has ten children by her former marriage [to Daniel KNOWLTON]: Mary J., F. Adel, Alice S., Adda P., Azor, Elizabeth, Thaddeus, Maude, Edith, and Fannie. The farm contains 160 acres.
